Lansing Elementary Weekly Update
Newsletter for the Lansing Elementary School Family
May 22, 2020
The end to this school year is bittersweet. There is always excitement about the arrival of summer and the anticipation of being promoted to the next grade-level, but there is a lingering sadness about the way we had to end the school-year. Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, and care-givers for our partnership during the COVID-19 crisis. We appreciate the overwhelming positive support you gave our staff and the dedication to your children to deliver the continuous learning plan.
Thank you for coming to our farewell parade! There was so much excitement to see your student and connect with them one final time as the school-year ends. It was great to see all of you and we all loved the creative signs and decorations on your cars.
I know this summer will be different then summer's past. I hope your family can enjoy the time to explore new and creative possibilities to have your family time and to have a break from the fast-paced calendar of the school-year.
Please take time to read to and with your children. Reading is a great way to explore the many adventures that a good book can take you on, no matter where you are. As we get more information about what school will look like this fall, I will communicate with you in a timely manner. No matter what our guidelines are in the Fall, we'll get through this together.
Please look for a monthly newsletter in June and July with any updates I need to share. Have a wonderful summer!

Please make sure IPAD is turned off and don’t forget the charger. Please label your IPAD with your child's first and last name and teacher for the 2019-2020 school-year. If your child is participating in Extended School Year (special education) keep your IPAD to use for this summer program.

Additional yearbook questions contact PTA at this email address: LansingPTAyearbook@gmail.com

RAIN PLAN SUPPLY PICK-UP
It looks like rain is in our forecast all of next week. In the event that it is raining without lightening or other dangerous weather, here is the plan:
*Pick Up Schedule is the Same but we will condense the work area and number of staff outside. A tent will be up near the receiving doors at the back of the school.
A staff member will stand under the tent. This may make our line move slower. Please be patient and kind to our staff members.
*In the event there is dangerous lightening or storms in the area so that our staff cannot be outside, we will close until the storm passes, then re-open immediately. It is our hope that if a dangerous storm enters our location, it will not last long. I will send out alerts via Skyward to keep parents informed.
Lots of signs and well-wishes!
