Wolfsville Elementary News
December 2019/January 2020
Principal's Message
As a school community we have celebrated many accomplishments in 2019! The power of our work is in our collective dedication to honor the learning journey of each and every student. To do that successfully we have built and fostered a school community that is supportive and collaborative both at school among our staff and at home with our families. TOGETHER we experience SUCCESS for our students!
Another way our success is measured is through our state issued report card by Maryland State Department of Education, under the The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). This report card measures our work annually as a result of a variety of accountability measures. You will notice on the report card it is noted a rating system on a scale of 1 star (lowest performing percentile) to 5 stars (highest performing percentile). As we close out 2019, I am so proud to share with you Wolfsville once again has been named as a top preforming school in FCPS and the state! I could not be more proud of our collective work to retain our 5 star rating and the ongoing commitment we uphold for growth in all our Wildcat learners!

Yours in Education,
Megan Stein, Principal

Holiday Assistance
If your family is in need of assistance this winter with clothing, food or holiday items please reach out to our school counselor, Mr. Tressler at 240-236-2250 or christopher.tressler@fcps.org for information related to available assistance programs.
Holiday Craft Fair
We look forward to our annual Holiday Craft Sale provided by the PTA next week! Students will have the opportunity to purchase items on Wednesday, December 11th. More information and a preview of sale items will come home this week in your child's Thursday folder. If you would like your child to purchase items from the sale, please send them with money and a shopping list for 12/11 to streamline the process for our PTA and staff.
Stocking Stuffer Recommendation
Join the PTA
Some of the funds to help cover these events and school donations come from membership fees. This year membership participation is down. Joining the PTA offers your support of our programs, but does not necessarily mean you need to volunteer or run any specific event. Please consider joining us, if you have not already, to show your support for Wolfsville and our continued work.

Afterschool and Weekend Activities: Generally, when schools are closed due to inclement weather, school-sponsored afterschool and evening activities are canceled or postponed.
Emergency closing notices are sent from the FCPS Central Office only, not from schools.
Winter Weather Clothing
Cooler temperatures are here!! Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the fluctuating temperatures. Unless there is inclement weather, students go outside for a 20 minute recess each day. They often need extra coats or layers for this time! We encourage you to write your child's name on the inside tag of their coats or sweatshirts.
