South Lebanon Elementary
5th Avenue Falcons April 2021
Notes and News from the Principal
We have now officially entered the 4th marking period. I would be remiss if I did not offer my sincere appreciation for your support as we have worked our way through this year of challenges. Our students have truly been able to thrive.
With the start of April, our students and staff in grades 3-5 are turning their attention to the upcoming PSSA state assessments. These assessments will begin with ELA testing on April 20-22, Mathematics on April 27-28. Fourth grade students will take the Science assessment on April 29-30. Please know that these assessments are simply a snapshot in time and the information gleaned from the assessment data will be used to assist your child and inform our instruction for the future.
As students prepare for the PSSA's we ask for your help at home. It is important that students have a good breakfast daily and have a good night's rest. We do not want our students to stress about these tests and our message to students will be one of encouragement. All that we ask is that students try their best. Please reinforce that these assessments have no bearing on whether or not students move on to the next grade. Their importance lies in kids showing what they know. With your support and positive messaging to students, we are confident that our students at South Lebanon will continue to SOAR and show their Falcon Pride.
Sincerely,
Mr. Brown
Principal
