Sermon Series: Who We Are
This Sunday's Message: Abounding In Hope
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
(Romans 15:13)
This Sunday's Scriptures: Lamentations 3:16-24, I John 3:1-3, Romans 15:7-13
From the desk of Pastor Paul...
Dear Friends,
This Sunday is the date for our Annual Congregation / Corporation meeting following the 10:30 worship service. You will be receiving electronically a copy of the 2017 Annual Report containing reports and financial information from the past year of ministry at OLCC,P. Please plan to attend this meeting Sunday to hear summaries, elect a Deacon to fill an open slot on the Board of Deacons, and complete necessary business.
Sunday is also the day we encourage members to offer their yearly Per Capita offering supporting ministry in the wider PC(USA). This year the amount is $26.33 per member and we appreciate your willingness to participate in this ministry of support for our wider church family.
Romans 15:7-13 will be the sermon passage for Sunday as we complete our series of messages to start the New Year on “Who We Are” at OLCC,P. We have focused on our mission statement of centering on Jesus Christ, being transformed by God’s grace, and sent into the world. It all comes together as we realize that in being who we are called to be, we can “Abound In Hope” that the joy, peace, and hope of God in the Holy Spirit will be ours as we live into being who God has called us to be both individually and as a faith community. In the midst of a world filled with so much heartache and ugliness, we have hope to offer our community and world in being the people God has called us to be!
See you Sunday,
Pastor Paul
