"We aren't as lost together as we are by ourselves"
Dear Silver Springs Families,
We are almost there! The first day of school is just a few days away. Teachers have been very busy this week getting all our new resources ready for you and your students! We also had the pleasure of listening to Dr. Jim Harris who was our keynote speaker this year at our District Welcome Back. I mention this because he used some fantastic metaphors to help each of us put into perspective some of those things we might be feeling.
Right now, I imagine that will all the new information about ClassLink, Schoology, Virtual Schedules, Class Placements, Welcome Letters and more, that you might find it hard to catch your breath sometimes. I know that I have had to stop and remind myself to breathe quite a few times this week.
One thing that has been an incredible help and comfort is the way that we have come together to support and lift each other up. Dr. Harris also said that "We aren't as lost together as we are by ourselves." The entire team here at Silver Springs is only a phone call or email away. Please don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we can do hard things!
Please note, the first week of school is always about setting routines, getting to know classmates, and establishing relationships. These social-emotional learning procedures are more important this year than ever. While instruction will be happening, it will be predominantly through this lens. Establishing this foundation is paramount to your child's academic performance, so please be patient with teachers as they spend the majority of the week focusing on these important components as they are getting to know you and your students.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you at our virtual Open Houses next week! Please see the schedule below for more information.
For more information about our virtual start, please visit this NPS Website FAQ. We are continuing to update this resource with information that you may find helpful as we begin the 2020-2021 school year.
I'm looking forward to a wonderful year full of new opportunities!
"Eagles Strong"

Annual Online Registration
All new and returning families: It's time to fill out your required online Annual Registration!
Every year, all families are required to fill out the digital Annual Registration for each student. Families may complete these forms through ParentConnection.
