Getting Grades and SLOs Squared Away

Good Morning,

Autumn officially begins later this week, but based off of this weekend's weather you'd never know! Summer just doesn't want to go away!

Also occurring later this week is our first PD Day. An agenda should be out before Wednesday, but I can tell you now that it will be differentiated between ninth grade teachers and rest of the faculty. Tim Johnson from our curriculum office will be in attendance with the US History Team.

Please be sure to have your grade books up to date today, and continue to update daily since Interims will be distributed on Friday. The more up to date we are, the more we keep our students informed.

With your content teams, continue to work towards establishing your first SLO and administering the pre-test. Your SLO, pre-test data, and post-test are due to me by the close of business on Friday, September 30.

Please read up on our weekly updates and let me know if you have any questions.

To Ms. Williams, Ms. Beasley, and Ms. Platte for making the most of their content team planning meetings. The meetings are run efficiently with collaboration by all members. Well done!

Things to Know

1. Content Teams: Please be sure that you are reviewing the Quarter 1 exam when making formative and summative assessments. While we can not use the same questions that are included on the test, we can model questions in similar formats and content.

2. Constitution Day! As per our department meeting, all teachers are required to cover a Constitution lesson sometime between 9/15-9/19. There are plenty of resources available on the Social Studies Blackboard site.

3. Interims will be distributed next Friday, please make sure your grade books are up to date by the end of the day on Monday, as per Mr. Manbeck's e-mail.

4. SLO 1 with pre-test data and post test are due to me by 9/30.

The WICOR MMM will be sent as a pdf in a seperate e-mail.
