New: Azuki's Kitchen

I am so very happy to welcome Miki from Azuki's Kitchen to our family of growers and vendors! Azuki Kitchen will be providing the market Japanese inspired baked goods. Miki is also a fellow member and has supported the co-op market since 2012! I remember back in the days when pick up was in my garage talking to Miki about health and cooking. We are so happy to now support her! She has a cottage kitchen right here in Suwanee! Look for her yummy products in the Bakery Goods section starting this weekend!

New: A Good Gut Feeling

I am also super excited to welcome Trevor & Jane from A Good Gut Feeling in Marietta! They are a small family business making artisan foods using local ingredients when possible. All of their products are organic (or locally grown and equivalent to organic), non gmo, sugar free, gluten free and preservative free. Healthy food is their passion and they go as far as to only cook with stainless steel and to use spring water in all of their products. I had the opportunity to try out their products and they are all amazing!! They will be providing the market the following items:

  • Cider Fresh Ginger (this is an apple cider vinegar drink)
  • Sweet Potato Hummus (regular, za'atar and spicy) Our hummus is bean free and made with organic sweet potatoes
  • Cultured Onions (spicy and regular) : These are fermented organic onions
  • Za'atar Infusion: Is a Middle Eastern blend of herbs with Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Probiotic Salad Dressing: (This stuff is A-mazing!!!)

Check out the video below of Trevor at the Woodstock Farmers Market

Look for their items on the market starting 11/16

Order Cheese this weekend!

We will have another group buy for grass fed cheese with Coulter Farm this weekend! Last time, our camembert wasn't quite ready but I just heard from Rebecca that not only is it ready but all their fresh cheeses like ricotta and brie! They produce Raw Milk Cheeses, from their own Certified Organic, 100% Grassfed Jersey Milk right on their farm in Honey Grove, Pennsylvania. This is truly "raw milk" cheese, never heated above 102 degrees. They offer several varieties of cheese, including: Cheddar, Smoked Cheddar, Baby Swiss, Monterrey Jack, Pepper Jack, Garlic and Herb Jack, Gouda, Camembert, Brie and others.

All their cheeses will be listed this weekend. So if you missed it a couple of weeks ago you can still get their amazing cheese. I will submit our order on Monday morning but I'm not sure if it will ship in time for Thanksgiving. This is a prepaid pre-order and payment is expected this Wednesday.

GOAT MILK

Rusty will be on vacation for the Thanksgiving holiday so don't forget to order goat milk this week if you need some. Order extra if you need to!

Chicken is back on the market! Back in Time is officially CNG!

Pastured raised chicken from Back In Time Farm will be back on the market starting this weekend! Whole chicken will be back in December. Also, Congratulations to them for obtaining Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) certification! They have always had organically grown standards but now they are certified.

What does CNG mean? The Certified Naturally Grown Livestock Standards are based on the National Organic Program standards with a few significant modifications, as noted below.

We clarified and strengthened the standards for living conditions and access to pasture. The organic rules were worded in such a way that agribusiness growers got away with their animals never actually going outside.

Another difference is in feed requirements. The feed must be grown according to CNG standards - without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides or GMO seeds - but it does not have to be certified. When you can find a local source that's growing according to these standards and will affirm their practices in a signed declaration, we think you should have the option to use that local source.

Pre-Order Thanksgiving Pies!

Yes, it's almost that time!! Crave Pie will be taking pre-orders for their 30'' pies that will be delivered the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Perfect dessert after an amazing dinner! Pre-Order this weekend!

Beet Kvass (Golden) is ON SALE!

Cultured Traditions' Beet Kvass (Golden) is ON SALE 50% OFF! $3 each! Kvass is a traditional fermented beverage with many health benefits - efficient hydration (far surpassing any of the commercial 'sports drinks' on the market), liver detoxifier & cleanser, immune system builder, to name a few.

If you've been wanting to try this amazing product, now is the time!

NO CHANGES TO PICK UP THANKSGIVING Week

We will have normal pick up on Wednesday, November 21st before Thanksgiving Day.

Heads up- Christmas is on a Tuesday and I'm probably going to close down that week. I'll send details as we get closer...

Zelle - New Payment Option with no fees

I’m offering a new payment option – Zelle! There is no fee to you or me to use this option. You may use starting this week!

You will need a mobile phone to use this payment method.

How to use:
Find Zelle in the mobile banking app of your bank or credit union. If you already have your banking app on your phone, there’s no download necessary. If your bank or credit union doesn’t offer Zelle yet, just download the Zelle app to get started.

Once you enroll, you can send money using my email address suwaneewholelife@gmail.com or my mobile number 404-934-4644 to pay for your order. It’s super easy and fast – just enter the amount you want to send.

I prefer we do this like PayPal and send your money before pick up on Wednesday. Best to initiate payment right after you order so you don’t forget.

Starting Nov 5th, this will replace the Dwolla payment option. You may still use Dwolla until then if you would like.

For more info about Zelle click this link: https://www.zellepay.com/

Hoodies for the Homeless - Bring to pick up next week

My son will be having a Hoodies for the Homeless clothing drive. More details are in his letter below:

Hi, my name is Corey. I’m Mrs. Nora’s son. Last year for Thanksgiving we volunteered for Hosea Feeds the Hungry and helped with the clothing. We heard many times “are there any hoodies?”. We ran out quick. Someone has to take responsibility. I’m taking up the task with Hoodies for the Homeless. You can drop off any Wednesday pick up day between now and 11/21 (Wed before Thanksgiving). There will be a designated spot inside the pick up area where hoodies can be dropped off.

My hope is that nobody is cold this Thanksgiving. So if you could drop off any hoodies – Large, medium, or small, used or new that would be great.
Thanks :-)
Corey

If you have any questions just let me know. This is not a formal charity, just something he wants to do to help others. We’ll collect the hoodies and deliver Thanksgiving Day to Hosea Helps in Atlanta.

Thank you to those that already dropped off yesterday! He was so happy to collect 2 bags full!

Thank you notes to a farmer or vendor

Pick a farmer or vendor and write them a thank you note. I have a list of names and products on the check out table and link below to refresh your memory. You can bring your own card or use some of the ones on the table at pick up. There's a marked mailbox at check out area to deposit your thank you card. I’ve wanted to do this for awhile and think it’s a small way we can let the farmers/vendors know how much we appreciate what they do for us!
You support us and we support YOU!! This section of the newsletter is dedicated to helping support our community. If you are looking for a job, have a business you want to share, a community event, etc., please let me know. I write the newsletter every Thursday so submissions are due by Wednesday. Please email your submission to suwaneewholelife@gmail.com
