A Note from Mr. Moeckel

Concord Families,

The photo above is evidence of a job well done. Our newest piece of recess equipment was unveiled this week. The Gaga Pit got a good deal of action this week! We were happy to share with Dylan, the soon to be Eagle Scout, that his project is a big hit. We are thankful for the time and energy put in to the construction.

Yours in Education,

Brian

Library Notes

Hi Concord families! See the below notes from the library. Thanks!

  • Scholastic Book Fair - Concord's book fair will run from Wednesday 12/7 to Saturday 12/10 during the Winter Festival. Each classroom teacher will bring their class for a visit. Students are welcome to come as walk-in shoppers throughout this time frame as well. Again, this year, we ask that every student shopper sets up a Scholastic e-wallet. To do this, please visit our Scholastic Book Fair webpage. A paper flyer should be coming home with your child this weekend!
  • St. Louis County Library Winter Reading Program - SLCL is hosting a Winter Reading Challenge from December 1st to January 31st. This is completely voluntary, but I wanted to share the information. Click on this link to learn more about it! I will also be sending home a paper form for this program next week.
  • In preparation for several upcoming library activities, we are asking if anyone has spare plastic grocery bags and/or kid friendly magazines to send into the library. Thanks in advance!

Counselor Corner

Hello Concord Flyer Grownups! Over the next week, Rachel and I will be wrapping up our Second Step Bullying Counseling Lessons. Students are ready to RECOGNIZE, REPORT, AND REFUSE Bullying! At home, please take a moment to ask your student: What would you do if you saw someone being bullied?

We are so glad to be on Team Concord Parents!

Social Emotional Learning Screening Results in SIS Portal (Grades 3-5)

This fall, students in grades 3-5 began participating in screening using the Social, Academic, and Emotional Behavior Risk Screener (mySAEBRS). The purpose of this SEL screener is to measure the big picture of the student experience at Lindbergh Schools and identify individual students who may need additional support in the areas of academic, emotional, and social skills.

It is important to note that these surveys provide only a glimpse or snapshot of a student's response on the day when the survey was administered. No data point should ever be used as a sole indicator when determining the needs of students.

To access your student’s SAEBRS results on the SIS Portal:

  1. Log on to the SIS Portal with your username and password.

    1. Note: Your username is your email address on file. If you have forgotten your password, please select “Forgot your parent password?” on the Parent tab.

  2. Under Current Academics (left side menu) - select Assessments. Assessments can only be viewed in a web browser (mobile or desktop) and not the SIS app.

  3. Select the title of the Assessment you want to view.

Attached, please find the Guide to Interpreting SAEBRS Results.

Nominate a Special Lindbergh Teacher for #TeacherProud Tuesday

Calling all students, parents, and community members: Lindbergh Schools wants your nominations for #TeacherProud Tuesday! Tell us about a teacher who works in our schools who has made a difference in your life, and they might be selected to be featured on social media as part of #TeacherProud Tuesday, a statewide social media initiative that is designed to recognize outstanding teachers and promote public education. On the second Tuesday of each month, Missouri school districts will recognize a #TeacherProud Tuesday honoree for going above and beyond, and making a difference in the lives of students.
