Week of November 28th- Ms. Postema & Mrs. Blankenship
Curriculum Update
We will hit the ground running upon our return from Thanksgiving break! Please note the following assessments in bold.
Ms. Postema's Class- 8:30
Mrs. Blankenship's Class-10:30.
Writing/Grammar- The students will complete their Westward Expansion writing piece. This non-fiction writing will count as a test grade. All writing must be done in class, however, research may be completed at home. A grammar dg on sentences will also be given by the end of the week.
Word Study- A test grade for spelling will be taken from the Westward Expansion piece. A daily grade will be taken later in the week from the Greek/Latin roots- Mob/mot/tract/tend/tens/tent. The words have been posted on Quizlet.
Social Studies- The students will be introduced to inventors and look at emigration at the turn of the century. A daily grade on these topics is planned for Friday.
Science - We will continue learning about constructive and destructive forces that change the Earth's crust. The students will have a daily grade on Wednesday on vocabulary associated with this unit.
Math - We will be multiplying fractions and mixed numbers in math.
Holiday Lunch
Please make plans to attend the Jackson Elementary Holiday Lunch! This is a wonderful opportunity to spend time with your child at school.

22nd: Winter Holiday Break Begins
The Giving Chain
The Jackson Counselors and Care Team will be sponsoring The Giving Chain once again at this year’s holiday lunches
(November 30, December 1, and 2).
We will be collecting monetary donations of any amount during this time.
Donations collected at this event are used by the Care Team to provide assistance to Jackson students and their families.
