George School's Family Update

October 22, 2017

First Annual "Trunk or Treat" at Jessie George School

A great time was had by all at the first annual George School Trunk or Treat! Thanks to the PSO for organizing this event and to all our parent volunteers! A special shout out goes to our Fourth Grade Teachers, Ms. O'Connor and Mrs. Mosery for hosting the 4 O/M Class Car (including Chulie). All the cars were pretty impressive and scary (just a little). The children also enjoyed Pumpkin Painting and a great night out with friends. Students voted for their favorite car, and although it was close with such impressive decorating, the winning car was 5-D, Mr Dontello's Class. It was a fabulous night for all as we get ready for Halloween. Thanks to all!

October Notes from our School Counselor, Mrs. Rachel Guyt

The Month of October has been a month to raise awareness for many different reasons. Our students raised awareness for being a kind friend during our "Week Of Respect." They have participated in school-wide, classroom activities to acknowledge Anti-Bullying Prevention Month and what it means to be an Upstander.

To close out the month of October, we will be holding a very special spirit day on Thursday, October 26th to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as, Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month was held during September and we would like to take the opportunity next week to acknowledge both events. We are asking students K-2nd to wear the color pink and students 3rd-5th to wear the color yellow. We will be taking a school wide ribbon picture on this day, to show our love, support, and unity for the families in our community and families everywhere that have been affected by these illnesses.

Thank you so much for your support!

Fifth Grade Enjoyed Experiements with Suez Water

Fifth Grade Students Learned about Adhesion, Cohesion and Water Molecules, as well as important water conservation tips! Thank you to Suez Water Company for setting up some inquiry based activities for our students as they worked in collaborative teams to critically analyze their scientific data.

Picture Retakes wil be on Wednesday 10/25 at 10:15
