Dear RMS Families
We have successfully transitioned back to a 5 day school routine and within the next few days we will enjoy a well deserved Spring Break (April 2nd - 9th)
The 2020-2021 school year is quickly moving into the final few months and we are now entering the time of year where the weather gets nice and students have a tougher time than usual staying focused on their academic responsibilities. Please continue to stress to your child the importance of taking responsibility for their academic achievement. The staff at RMS will continue to work hard to provide your student with challenging and enjoyable learning experiences through the final days of the school year.
The end of the 3rd Nine Weeks is April 14th. You can expect your students’ report cards to be given out on April 21st. Please take the time to look over this progress report and discuss your student’s report card with them. Students that are not successful academically in their core subjects (ELA, Math, Science & Social Studies) are subject to being retained. If you have any questions, please contact the teacher by either telephone or email. Teachers are scheduling Parent-Teacher Conferences now to discuss our After-School Program for students that are already in jeopardy of being retained.
In addition, Rosemary is planning to have a summer school in June/July to assist students who need additional support in order to be promoted to the next grade. As we get closer to the end of the 4th nine weeks, information will be shared with students and parents.
I want to encourage you to be involved with your student and our school. With the students, parents, and school staff working together, the Rosemary Middle School will continue to be a positive and caring learning community.
Finally, with the continued increase in social media, use I want to strongly encourage you to take an active role in monitoring your child’s usage and interactions with others. As a school, we want to provide and support materials that support digital citizenship. One excellent resource is the www.commonsensemedia.org, web site. This includes information around internet safety, sexting, setting online limits and much more information. We all have the same common goal, let’s keep our kids safe online.
Continue to stay safe!
Educationally Yours,
L. Goodson
