Spring Break Message
Dear Pine River Families,
As we approach the final quarter of the school year, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support and encouragement. We are enjoying a successful year with students learning, having fun, and making memories every day through the dedication and hard work of our teachers, support staff, PTO, and families.
A challenge that I am noticing as both a parent and educator is the increase and sometimes reliance on digital technology by our children for entertainment. Each year, digital media increasingly fills the time, minds, and hearts of our students. Believe me, I know firsthand how challenging it is to help our children limit their screen time and develop healthy self regulation skills. Please take the time to fight and win this battle with your kids so that they build bonds with special people that are stronger than attachments they might have to digital media.
I encourage you to use Spring Break as an opportunity to take a break from school and any routines that interfere with quality time spend together as a family. Spring is a time of growth, rebirth, and renewed energy. Rather than letting your kids slip into longer amounts of screen time, start forming new routines focused on doing things together inside, outside, and in the community. Reflect on all of the growth your child has made this year, and focus on creating new healthy habits that will set him or her up for continued success.
Together, we will finish this school year strong when we return in April!
Sincerely,
Rachel Card

Positivity Project Resources for Families
The mission of The Positivity Project is to empower students to build positive relationships with others and be their best selves as individuals. Each week at Pine River, we focus on one of the 24 character strengths that everyone possesses. Through lessons presented daily by their teachers, our students learn to be more self aware and self confident in the content of their own character. In addition, they learn to understand and appreciate these character traits in others. Together, we are building meaningful relationships and connections with one another that are essential for learning and growing.
Below is a link to resources to help our families support The Positivity Project at home.
