Message from Mrs. Fox
Dear MPS families-
We recently made it past the mid-term of our first marking period. Our students are working hard and learning so much each day. Teachers will be preparing for conferences over the next few weeks and will reach out to share dates and times. We value participation in conferences as it allows us to share information about each student and how they are progressing so far this school year. Conferences give families the opportunity to see the classroom, hear progress information, and ask questions. FCPS designates three days in mid October and our schedule is shortened on those days (see important dates below). Conference blocks are approximately 15 minutes and we appreciate your support in maintaining that time frame so other conference times are not impacted. If you have additional questions beyond the designated time allowed, you can always reach out to your student's teacher via Schoology, email, or phone. We hope each family will make it a priority to attend. Conferences can be held in person or virtually. You can share your preference with the teacher.
Interpreters are available for conferences. Please let your child's teacher know if you would like or require an interpreter at your conference. Our school team will work directly with our Interpreting Services department to secure an interpreter. Our Interpreting Services department will be working to schedule interpreters across the entire county. This may impact day and time availability.
We hope each family is able to attend.
Kindly,
Sandy Fox, Principal

Middletown Campus Feasibility Study
The Middletown Campus Feasibility Study took place during spring and summer 2022 and is nearing completion. A team of architects and engineers evaluated the existing Middletown Elementary, Middletown Middle and Middletown High school buildings and site conditions. The team also evaluated the educational adequacy of the buildings. The team will be presenting the recommendations for the future of the Middletown campus at the November 9 Board of Education (BOE) meeting. The report including recommendations will be posted to BoardDocs by Friday, November 4 (https://go.boarddocs.com/mabe/fcps/Board.nsf/Public). Email comments may be directed to Project Manager Holly Nelson at Middletown.Campus@fcps.org or directly to the BOE at Board@fcps.org. Public comment will also be taken at the BOE meeting.
Donations of Clothes needed for the health room
- Clothes for the health room; sizes 5T through 10; clean and no rips or tears; these items can be sent in with your student and will be delivered to the health room; you can also drop these items off at our front office
We are so appreciative of any support!
Mandatory Volunteer Training
We have loved having volunteers back in the school this year. Teachers determine if and when volunteers are needed and share that information with families. If you will be volunteering or have been asked to volunteer, it is important to note that you must complete the FCPS volunteer training.
Volunteering includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
- Working in the school library
- Hanging art work in the hallways
- Making copies for teachers in the building
- Being a mystery reader in a classroom
- Chaperoning field trips
If you would like to volunteer in a classroom you must first complete the volunteer training using the link below. Please note it can take up to 72 hours for processing. As you plan your volunteer time, be sure to leave enough time for your volunteer status to be updated. No exceptions can be made.
You only need to complete this one time each school year. Volunteers will not be permitted if the training has not been completed and forwarded to MPS. Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to keep student and staff safety as our number one priority.
