What's Happening In Conway
5/15/2020
Message from Mr. Cravy and Mr. Dickinson
We want to thank you for being such amazing partners during this difficult time. We know that every family has challenges you are dealing with and having to help your students with school work all day is a new experience.
We hope in the midst of this crisis you have found some positives. Personally, we have had more time with our own children, extra family dinners, and more time to just be a family than we normally have with our busy schedules.
As we navigate through this last month or so of school, you will hear many rumors about what next year will look like. We honestly don't know what it will look like. There are many ideas floating around about how to start school and protect everyone from spreading the virus. As the plans develop at the state level we will share any guidance we receive. OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) has been a huge support to schools and they are working hard with a group of 120+ educators from around the state on creating guidelines for schools to follow in the fall. Once we have guidance from the state, we will also have a focus group of staff and parents to review the plan and adapt it to fit Conway.
If you have any questions or your child is struggling with any aspect of our current plan please don't hesitate to call. We are here to help and want to reduce the challenges as best we can.

Mr. and Mrs. Scheer Volunteer
Mr. Scheer and his wife Tricia Scheer (who works for Skagit Historical Museum), were volunteer judges for Washington State's National History Day competition.
This year's theme was "breaking barriers" and the topics included a huge range of international historic events. The Scheers judged the "Live Performance" category which due to social distancing guidelines, required the students to completely adapt their performances into scripts and photos.
Each entry included an original script, photos of hand made costumes and sets, and a great deal of imagination and historical accuracy. The level of writing was phenomenal for middle schoolers and truly indicative of the great amount of research and passion that the students put in.
