Seniors - If you have been previously approved to use the Senior Study Release privilege and have a change to your study block or teacher for semester 2, please see Ms. Irwin in the Assistant Principal’s office to advise of the change. This needs to be done before your next use of the privilege.


**Please take a look at the Lost and Found table in the Cafe, the base of the stairs off the main lobby and in the Gym Locker Rooms for lost items. **


The Mattapoisett Library is in need of help on their Teen Advisory board. Join us once a month to plan out events for middle and high schoolers at the library! The board offers tons of volunteer opportunities and amazing connections. If you’re interested, reach out to mskaar@sailsinc.org


Call for Volunteers:

The Mattapoisett Congregational Church is in need of student volunteers to assist with serving food at their “Open Table” meal on February 17 from 4-6:30 pm. Please call Lee Heald at 508-965-4816 to sign up.

We have several positions open on our board: Vice President; Marketing and Business Development Director; and Student Representative (senior). Employment Opportunity: Fieldstone Farm Market in Marion is hiring stock people to stock produce and grocery items in the store and help unload deliveries. They are looking for someone who can work around 20 hours a week (about 4 days). Inquire at the store if interested.

Guidance Department Announcements


The deadline to make-up Incomplete Grades for Term 2 is Friday, February 3, 2023. Handbook language (page 21) is as follows:

INCOMPLETE GRADES

  • • Students have two weeks from the day grades close to make up any Incomplete Grades issued by teachers, including 4th term and the summer.

    • All work not completed within the specified period will be given no credit and averaged with the completed work to determine a grade.

    • The responsibility for completing this work within the required time rests solely with the student.

    • In the case of extenuating circumstances, any extension of this policy must be arranged with the Principal before the end of the two-week time period.

Attention Seniors: Don’t forget to bring in your college acceptance letters to your guidance counselor. It does not need to be the original - can be a copy, screenshot, email, etc.


MassHire will be back for their next visit on Wednesday, February 1, during Bulldog Block. The topic this week is “How to get a job and keep a job.” Please sign up with your mentor.


Dual enrollment opportunity for Juniors and Seniors - The Massachusetts Maritime Academy International Maritime Business Department is offering a wonderful opportunity for students to gain COLLEGE CREDIT and EXPERIENCE at no cost to you. It's a Six (6) week Introduction to the Business Course over the Winter Session.
