Dear Parents of ORR

The Old Rochester Regional High School is planning our homecoming dance on Saturday, October 26th. We (the Freshman Class Student Council) would be grateful for donations from the community for the dance’s concession stand. To be extra cautious with allergies and to keep things simple we have a list of items we will be selling. If anyone in the community would like to donate we are in need of

-Water Bottles

-Gatorade(cool blue/fruit punch)

- Capri Suns (pacific cooler/ tropical punch)

-Coca Cola (12fl can)

-Sprite (12fl can)

-Swedish Fish (Fun Size)

- M&M’s (Fun Size)

-Skittles (Fun Size)

-Sour Patch Kids (Fun Size)

- Frito Lay variety pack chips

This year's Homecoming Dance is on October 26th from 7-10.

Tickets go on sale during lunches Oct. 15th-18th and Oct. 21st-23rd. Tickets can also be purchased during the evenings of skit rehearsals.

Classes will be practicing for homecoming skits/working on banners from 6:30-8:30 pm on the following nights:

10/15, 10/17, 10/22, 10/24

  • Freshmen will meet in the media center

  • Sophomores will meet in the library.

  • Juniors will meet in the cafeteria.

  • Seniors will meet in the gym.

Please bring in new socks of all sizes for us to donate to the Women's Center. The Community Service Learning Club will be collecting socks for the whole month of October - mornings in the front lobby (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) and at lunch during the week of Oct 15 thru 18. If you bring in socks during Oct 15th thru 18th you will get $2 off your homecoming ticket! Please bring in socks to help those in need, thank you!

Playing athletics in college, what do I need to know? Please join us to learn more about the process of recruiting and NCAA rules/regulations for Divisions I, II and III athletics – Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30 pm in high school library. All are welcome regardless of where you are in the process.

Reminders About Event Posters

- Approval from either Mr. Devoll or Ms. Harvey is needed before placement around the school

- Posters should only be attached to wood or brick surfaces – no lockers or painted surfaces

since the adhesive damages the paint upon removal

- When the event is over, kindly remove the posters throughout the building

The South Coast Chamber of Commerce is offering an agricultural tour of A.D. Makepeice in Wareham on Oct. 17th from 8:30 to noon. This is a free field trip with bus transportation from the school and back and lunch will be provided. Interested students should sign up and pick up a permission slip in the front office. Space is limited so please sign up soon!

PSAT Administration will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at Old Rochester Regional High School. All registrants are asked to be in the building by 7:45am. Doors will be locked at 7:55am and testing will begin promptly at 8:00am. Late admittance is NOT permitted. Please be sure to note in your bulletin “acceptable” Calculators for testing. All students need to bring 2 #2 pencils and their own calculator. ORR cannot provide testers with a calculator. Testing will be in the math classrooms and the cafeteria. Room assignments will be posted.

Attention ALL students who will be taking an Advanced Placement Exam:

The timeline for the CollegeBoard AP Exam Registration has been pushed to an earlier date. A payment of $40.00 PER EXAM will be due in guidance by November 8th. This deadline is firm for ordering purposes. Checks may be made payable to ORRHS/AP Exam. Students who are eligible for free and reduced lunches need to see Ms. Perry prior to the deadline for their fee schedule. The balance will be due by April 15. The cost per exam will be $94 with the exception of AP Research and AP Seminar, which is $142.

Attention JUNIORS and SENIORS - college/university information sessions have begun. You must sign up in guidance, online through Naviance, or with your mentor to attend a session. You can find the list of college/university representatives, dates, and times in guidance, on the guidance web page or on Naviance. To access Naviance use your student username and password. This list is updated often so please continue to check it. If you have any questions please see your counselor. You must sign up no later than 24 hours in advance for a college visit here at ORR. You may NOT sign up the day of the visit.

A reminder to college bound seniors: Please submit your yellow sheets to your guidance counselor 10 school days before your deadline. For example: If you have a November 1st deadline, your yellow sheet is due on October 17th.
