MassHire Greater New Bedford Career Center is excited to announce we have officially released our 2020 Summer Youth Works Program Application!

The Math Help Lab needs student tutors for Semester 2. Students who are interested in helping others with their mathematics work should see their math teacher or see Mrs. Kellum.

The Greater New Bedford Work Force is offering Heart Saver CPR courses to ORRHS students free of charge. Both the course and the 2-year certification card are included.If you are in need of CPR certification for a summer job (babysitting, camp counselor, sailing instructor etc) get this course now and make yourself more marketable!Space is limited- so sign up in Front Office- 12 spaces per session – Sign up is a commitment and on a first come first serve basis. The dates the classes are offered are February 26th 2:15-5:15 or March 11 5:00-8:00 pm both classes will be held in the library here at school.

The Knit OR Crochet Club is now holding weekly meetings every Tuesday in Sra. Carreira’s room 327, during Bulldog Block. Everyone is welcome! No prior experience necessary. When there is no school on Monday, the weekly meeting will be held on Friday at the same time and place. Schedule yourself during mentor Mondays. Email Sra. Carreira with any questions. Attention Juniors - Counselors will be meeting with English classes in the English Computer Lab the week of February 24th to begin discussing the steps involved in the post-high school planning process, and introducing students to on-line college/career search tools. Presentations will last approximately 60 minutes. Bring your questions!!

Attention seniors:

· Please submit your yellow sheets to your guidance counselor 10 school days before your deadline.

· Please bring copies of your college acceptance letters to guidance.

MEFA College Admissions Seminar Parents of sophomores and juniors are invited to attend a free seminar on college admissions, which will be held here, at ORR, on Thursday, February 27, at 6:00pm in the Media Room. This seminar is offered through MEFA, the Commonwealth’s authority on planning, saving, and paying for college. An experienced MEFA representative will provide an overview of college admissions, including building the college list, the college application process, and trends in college admissions. Before the seminar, be sure to visit MEFA’s website,, to download a copy of the seminar presentation and explore other tools and resources to assist you in the college planning process.
