Fall Updates ~ October 26, 2020

Happy Fall!

Hello Orchard Hill Families!

Can you believe we have almost completed 2 months of this school year? While it has not been easy, I continue to be amazed and proud of the persistence and resilience of our school community - students, teachers and parent/guardians.

During our all remote learning model our school counselors promoted Week of Respect with activities for our students. Themes focused on celebrating and respecting our differences, standing up for others and being bucket fillers. The entire OHES school staff continue to develop strong character traits in our young students and encourage being "up standers".

Our first ever, virtual Back to School Night was a success! Our teachers were excited to meet with you to discuss how the school year is unfolding, share classroom routines and curriculum information. We certainly missed having you attend in person and the energy this event creates in our building!

Please mark your calendars for upcoming events noted in this fall update. We look forward to your continued involvement and support!

Big picture

OHES Cubs may choose to wear Halloween costumes or School Spirit Wear on Friday, October, 30th. Halloween related activities may be offered by teachers during the week. Alternative activities will be available to students that do not celebrate Halloween.

If you are planning activities as a family please review the CDC Tips for a Safe and Healthy Halloween, the NJ Department of Health and the Montgomery Health Department.

Please share your kids' Halloween photos to place them in the YEARBOOK.

We can't guarantee to include every single photo submitted, but we will make sure to use a variety from different families.

Deadline for submission is November 15th.

Please remember:

  1. Upload only photos with students from that school (i.e. VES siblings can't appear with OHES siblings in OHES submitted photos, or vice versa)
  2. No adults.
  3. Make sure your images are clear.
  4. Participation is voluntary.
