Have You Completed Your Student's Health Information?

The health cards from previous years have been replaced by online forms. Please visit your student's Skyward account to complete the health form. If you have not completed it you will see a note on the health information tab. If you are unsure about your student's status please call the clinic at 317-915-4260.

Parents, we have a big safety concern regarding traffic at dismissal. Our office staff has reported a significant increase in the number of requests from parents who wish to pick up their students between 3:30-3:40 rather than pick up in the car-rider line. Additionally, a large number of car-riders are being met at the door by their parents and crossing traffic to get to the parking lot.

The safety of your children must remain our first priority at dismissal. Students are strongly encouraged to ride the bus. However, we understand the time constraints with our school hours and extracurricular activities that begin shortly after school.

Changes in transportation should be sent in a note with your student; however if you must make a change later in the day please call before 2:30.

For early dismissals, we will call for your student when you arrive.

The school day ends at 3:40, although we dismiss our car-riders about 3:35. If your schedule is tight, we suggest that you arrive at school by 3:20 to wait in the car-rider line. Our car-rider line moves quickly so if you are not so pressed for time arriving about 3:30 is sufficient.

GES school policy states that car-riders must be picked up in the car-rider line at dismissal. Parents are explicitly asked not to park in the parking lot to cross traffic to pick up their students at the door. Parents who are waiting to walk their students home will be directed to walk East down the sidewalk in front of the kindergarten classrooms and along the inside of the safety gate to cross to the sidewalk on 104th street.

Please help us keep your children safe.

3rd and 4th grade Crafting with Clay

During the first semester, Ms. Green will be offering a Crafting with Clay experience open to 3rd and 4th grade GES students. Each group session will include 2 classes, one for creating a clay piece and the second for painting. Several 2-day sessions will be offered. The student must be able to attend both days of the session. Click here for registration information.

GES Poster Contest

Help us redesign our behavior signs around the building! Geist Elementary needs new behavior signs around the building and we are looking for students to help us create them! If you are interested, create a design for any of the posters listed on the right side of this page. Posters should be easily read and understood but should also be creative. All entries should be turned in on a standard 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper. Please see the attached page for requirements for each sign. Your design could be selected to be made into our new GES behavior signs! Click here for contest rules.
