Ask Sock Monkey
We've added a new blog feature to our library web site, Ask Sock Monkey. Sock Monkey answers student-generated questions about library matters, but the replies go beyond with a little lagniappe. If you're looking for something short to read to kids in class, or have them read on their own, Sock Monkey would love the traffic, comments, and more student questions, too. Of course, feel free to submit your own quesries as well!
Free Friday
Don't forget Free Fridays for book checkout. You can send your students any time during any period to check out books. Just send them with a blue pass and limit them to no more than 5 at a time.

Ideas for Fun & Engaging Lessons
Research Projects - as we head into the 4th quarter, I know many of you assign research projects. Please let me know if you need a class session on how to research, evaluate resources, cite sources or other research-related help. I'm available to collaborate!
Lighthouse Love Drawing
Read and be entered. If you'd like to be entered in the monthly Django's drawing, email me with the phrase "Do you remember the night the Lighthouse when out in Georgia?" (This one is from a really, really old song.)
Netbook News
Netbook Storage - Starts Wednesday
Thanks to those of you who have been sending kids in to get their computers and cases all squared away. If you still have kids who are missing tags or chargers, please send them up the first 20 minutes of the block or encourage them to come on their own time.
