Mercy Value for Term 4 - Service
Our Mercy values are a unique part of our school. Catherine McAuley chose certain Gospel values that were important to her to help her make decisions and live her life. She also asked her Sisters of Mercy to use these values to help them make decisions.
These Mercy Values can help our students to make decisions too – how can I show Mercy Values when I’m at home, at school, or when I’m playing with my friends?
Term 4's mercy value is service. The mercy value of service is about helping others. You help others because it is what God wants you to do, and you don’t ask for pocket money or some other reward in return.
Service Prayer - Rato/Awhina
Before the Last Supper, Jesus knelt down and washed the feet of his disciples. He said this was an example for them, and that whoever wanted to be first among them must be ready fa be the least and the servant of all. May we learn from Jesus how, to put the needs of others first, and to use the gifts we have received to enrich their lives. We pray in Mercy’s name. Amen.

These lessons will be delivered at Onehunga Pools and students will be transported there and back in minivans.
