First Grade Library Newsletter

Another great week!

Wow! What a great week in the library! The first graders are really impressing me with how well they are following expectations and showing enthusiasm for library time.

This week in the library first graders and I shared the book: Exclamation Mark by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld. The poor exclamation mark in this book did not know why he stood out from the others but he finds his voice and learns to exclaim. The first graders are really good at exclaiming too! We talked about using that voice when we are reading and see an exclamation point. Hopefully they won't be screaming out the words like we did at storytime. :)

Exclamation Mark is not only a fun read and a great book to share with friends but it is a nominee on this year's Goldfinch Award List! That means that we are already on our way to being able to vote on our favorite book next spring!

Please let me know if you have any questions about anything and have a great weekend! Let me know if you are interested in volunteering in the library, there is a lot to be done and any help is appreciated.
