A Note from your Coordinator

This month reminds us to reflect on all our blessing and the things we have to be grateful for. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with everyone in Oak Ridge Schools and am thankful for the support and emphasis we put on the overall health and well-being of our students!

November Contest-- Win a FREE TURKEY!!

This month, everyone who finds the 3 shopping carts hidden in the newsletter and emails their locations to mkwade@ortn.edu will earn 100 points for their school towards the ORS Wellness Cup! In addition, everyone will be put in a drawing to win a FREE TURKEY!

Wellness Cup Standings


The ORS Wellness Cup standings:

1st Place- SAB/IT-1645 points

2nd Place- ORPS- 1165 points

3rdPlace- Woodland -1105 points

4th place- ORHS/RMS- 250 points

5th place- JMS-75 points

6th place- LES- 75 points

Don't worry if your school isn't on the board yet or doesn't have any points, there is still PLENTY of time to come back! You can get 100 points for your school just for finding the shopping cart! Keep looking it's not in this section!

The school with the most points at the end of the year will earn the Wellness Cup Trophy and prizes!

November is Diabetes Awareness Month

Diabetes affects over 29.1 million Americans, including around 210, 000 children and teenagers.🛒 While there is currently no cure for diabetes, there is treatment. Education is a key part of understanding the disease and preventing Type 2 Diabetes. Read below for more information.
