Parents and Guardians,

As we complete the final two weeks of the second nine week grading period, I want to thank you for your continued support of Mull Elementary School. Each day we strive to make Mull Elementary an enjoyable place where students can learn and grow, both socially and academically.

With the close of the second nine weeks our students at all grade levels will be participating in mid-year assessments in reading and math. The assessments for individual grade levels include:

  • Kindergarten - mClass & mid-year math
  • 1st & 2nd grade - mClass, mid-year math, Star Reading and Star Math
  • 3rd grade - mClass, NC Check-In Math, BCPS Reading Benchmark, Star Reading and Star Math
  • 4th grade - NC Check-In Math & NC Check-In ELA, Star Reading and Star Math
  • 5th grade - NC Check-In Math, NC Check-In ELA & BCPS Science Benchmark, Star Reading and Star Math

The results of these mid-year benchmark assessments will give us information on areas where your student excels and needs additional support. Homeroom teachers will be sharing the results of the assessments with you.

On February 5th, Patrice McLaurin, author of "Have You Thanked an Inventor Today?" will visit our school via Skype. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a personalized copy of the book prior to our Skype session. Look for additional information in the Take Home Tuesday Folder.

Additional dates, announcements and grade level newsletters can be found below. As always, please contact the school with any questions or concerns you may have.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Edwards
