Monday Memo
Week of August 31st, 2020 - Week One
Message from Principal Jackson
I cannot thank you all enough for the hard work and dedication this past week as we learned new things, tried them out, made mistakes, supported each other, and pushed through the challenges along the way. I am inspired by the dedication that you all put forward.
This week, as we open school for our students in a virtual space, there will be a number of bumps along the way but I have no doubt that you will all work to overcome them. Continue to support one another and let the leadership team know what we can do to support you along the way.
You will all be amazing this week!
Principal Jackson

We have been informed that the expected delivery to schools is between September 8-15. While we await delivery of the Eureka consumables, teachers and students have access to the Eureka Math curricular documents in English and Spanish on district-created OneNote Class Notebooks and in the Eureka In Sync platform.

A Family Guide to Learning at Home
To help parents and caregivers have a successful start to the school year, DCPS created a helpful guide to virtual learning for families. The guide contains information about Canvas, student schedules, attendance, family wellness, and more. Please share the guide, available in both English and Spanish, with your school community.
Technology
Families received the following documents 2+ times and over 3 different methods but please feel free to share it with them if they need to know how to access Canvas
Conduct in a Digital Space
Student Privacy in a Digital Space
As we start SY20-21 with learning at home and are utilizing social media more frequently, please ensure that all teachers and staff members are confirming media releases for students in Aspen before sharing photos or videos of students during digital learning sessions.
Using the same guidelines, you can also retweet or repost families who are sharing their own highlights on social media and encourage them to tag your school, @DCPublicSchools, and use #DCPSatHome and #ReopenStrong.
