The Taming of the Shrew

In the play, Katherine is portrayed as a shrew because of her actions. She doesn’t talk to anyone at school except her one close friend. Also, she is very guarded for reasons that nobody knows. I don’t think that she is treated fairly in the play because nobody knows her reasons for why she is the way she is. I think she has definitely changed by the end of the end of the play because she starts to let loose and let people in. For instance, she goes to a party and to prom so her sister can go. Also, she wrote a rhyme in her English class about her mother and all the bad things she has done to her but in the end, Katherine still doesn’t hate her. Another way she has changed was instead of being mean and keeping her little sister Bianca away from her crush Joey for reasons unknown to Bianca, she told Bianca her past with Joey and Bianca was angry. During prom Bianca found out who the real Joey was and ended up thanking her sister for trying to protect her.
