A Look Back, and a Preview of What's to Come
Looking Back on September/October 2019
Open Houses
3rd/4th Grade Open House - Our "upper classman" were represented by over 650 visitors on September 19th! It was absolutely amazing to see so many people come out to support their students and their school.
School Changes - MTSS
The Massachusetts Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a framework designed to proactively meet the needs of all students. It is a system that allows schools to identify student learning barriers and creates supports, based on data, to enable ALL students to overcome those barriers. This approach encompasses not only the practices of supporting student academic needs in the classroom based on data identification to implement specific intervention; but also focuses on coexisting supports for social emotional learning, sheltered immersion instruction, cultural, and economic challenges to proactively support students. The supports range from universal to intensive based on the needs of the student.
Walk to School Day
Students gathered at Watkins Field, where we lined up with our classrooms. We were led by the GPD and the Gardner High School Marching Band with Mr. Lepisto. It was a great day and an awesome way to start the school day.
