Five Little Pumpkins
These past couple of weeks were all about Halloween! We rolled pumpkin playdoh into different letters, painted black cats and white ghosts, ripped masking tape to make mummies, glued googly eyes onto spiders, used little squares to put on a bigger square pumpkin, ordered pumpkins from smallest to biggest, and counted candy corns. At circle time, we listened to different Halloween songs, practiced answering social questions (e.g., what do you like to play?), and identified several objects. With our friends from Room 4, we played in our pumpkin train station dramatic play area and threw bean bags toward a spooky haunted house. During P.E., we rode on scooter boards and rolled hula hoops to one another. On Thursday 10/19 we had an earthquake drill, during which we practiced laying down under the tables for safety and then walking outside with quiet mouths. I was so proud at how well the boys did with this!
Halloween Parade
A reminder that the CDC Halloween Parade will be on Tuesday, October 31st from 9:15-10am. Parents are welcome - hope to see you there! I'll be in touch with our neighboring classrooms about what snacks we can contribute and I'll keep you posted.
Please email me back what your son is being for Halloween. We can start talking about it at school :)
