Who is Alan Turing?

He was a maths genius and studied at Cambridge University in maths. He helped solve the enigma codes that led us to victory in the war. He was born on the 23 of June. Alan attended school first at St Michael's School in St Leonards on Sea. Then at the age of 14 he attended Sherborne School, in Sherborne, in Dorset. The school was begun in 1550 and is still teaching boys. In 1931, at the age of 19 he began at Kings College, Cambridge. He was a maths genius and studied at Cambridge University in maths.

Sexualtity

He was a homosexual, and to avoid being arrested instead he took injections of oestrogen for a year, which were intended to neutralise his libido. He committed suicide on 7 June, 1954.On 8 June 1954, Turing's housekeeper found him dead. He had died the previous day . he had eaten a bite of and apple that was covered in cyanide poisoning. it was illegal to be gay in the United Kingdom at this time.
