SENIOR PARENTS: MEET & GREET WITH PROSPECTIVE BAND FAMILIES – 3/23
We would like to welcome all seniors and their parents to a Meet & Greet scheduled for Monday, March 23 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. in the Band Room. We are inviting Rising 9th graders and their parents to join us in an informal setting so that they can meet you all, ask questions about your band experience, and get excited about joining the Hornet Swarm! Please RSVP to email@example.com to let us know if you can come.
Since it’s being held in the early evening, we thought it would be nice to offer our guests some light refreshments. If possible, please sign up to bring something to share. Thank you for helping welcome our prospective band families!
IDL / WG EXHIBITION – CHILI COOK-OFF
We are having a community performance night on Wednesday, March 25th at 7:30 PM in the Roswell HS Gym. This is a great opportunity to invite family, friends, community members to see the Roswell HS winter groups. We will need your help preparing and bringing desserts. Check CHARMS for sign-ups.
REGISTRATION NIGHT MONDAY, 3/30
All new and returning marching band and concert band members should plan to attend Registration Night (formerly known as “Commitment Night) on Monday, 3/30 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Band Room. Parents and students are welcome. We will be distributing sign-up forms, taking initial deposits, talking about band camp, reviewing volunteer opportunities and more. (If you have a friend or neighbor interested in learning more about marching band or color guard, please bring them with you.) It’s going to be a fun and informative evening!
ORLANDO TRIP UPDATE:
Greetings Parents and Students:
With all of the “lovely” cancellations that we are having, we have decided to cancel the band trip for the month of March. Don’t start those puppy dog tears quite yet. We are starting a new trip for May 26-31! I do understand that this is after school has ended and many of you have made vacation plans already. If you’re interested in taking this trip with us, please go ahead and fill out the following interest form:
Please complete by Friday, March 13, 2020 @ 5 P.M.
Full refunds will be given to all parties who have paid for the original trip. You may roll over your payment to the new trip (if it happens) or for next year’s band fees. Just indicate your wishes on the interest form.
Thank you for your patience as we navigate through this “memorable” year!
BAND BOOSTER UPDATES
We received the following thank you note:
“Thank you very much for arranging the Roswell High School Band Booster Club workday event at the Smith Plantation with the North Fulton Master Gardeners EVs and the Smith Plantation Horticulturalist. With all the kids, parents, and gardeners, we had a wonderful turnout, productive time and got enormous amount of work done by all the happy enthusiastic participants. Everyone was delightful and interested in the event!
Thank you, thank you.
The activity of work included: removal of invasive English Ivy teams worked in two areas, one team did the pruning, cleaning out and raking of the large hydrangea garden bed, and the mulching team put several inches of mulch on every trail in the woodland area. Jobs well done! Smith Plantation and the NFMGEV's appreciate all the participation and beautiful work.
Again, thank you and all the Roswell High School people that made the day happen. I wish I could thank everyone personally, please extend thanks to students, parents and faculty.
