The Ceremony of Ages

The Ceremonies of Ages are coming soon!

There are 12 ceremonies. Each ceremony contains a symbolic meaning as children age. The children receive a gift during each ceremony. The nature of the gift depends on how the child is maturing. These ceremonies are basically like a huge community wide birthday party.



One: Naming and given a family

Two: Discipline wand

Three: Dream telling

Four: Jacket with buttons on the back for interdependence

Five: Jacket with buttons on the back for interdependence

Six: Jacket with buttons on the back for interdependence

Seven: Front buttoned jacket for independence

Eight: New jacket with smaller buttons and pockets

Nine: Bicycles

Ten: New haircuts, short hairstyles in change from their long childish hair, to short, more-adult-like hair, which exposes their ears.

Eleven: New clothes

Twelve: Assignments are given
