Malala Yousafzai is a Brave, Determined, Friendly, Strong, Unlucky... But also caring, Helpful, and Supportive, Fearless, and a powerful leader/woman.
Why Did I Chose This Character?...
- I chose Malala Yousafzai because her and Rikky share a lot of the same characteristics
- Malala was the girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban.
- She was determined because she was worried that the Taliban would take away her right to education. Malala gave a speech in Peshawar, Pakistan, in September 2008. The title of her talk was, "How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?"
- Malala Yousafzai is a young girl who has taken the mantle to feel the leadership vacuum in the Pakistan education sector. She has been at the forefront championing for the girl child right to education.
- She became an outspoken opponent of Taliban efforts to restrict education and stop girls from going to school.
- Malala and he friends were traveling home from school, a masked gunman entered their school bus and asked for Malala by name. She was shot with a single bullet which went through her head, neck, and shoulder. Two of her friends were also injured in the attack.
- She gave a lot of money to a secondary school. Malala contributed her $1.1 million prize money to financing the creation of a secondary school for girls in Pakistan.
- She received Pakistan national youth peace prize. Malala accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on 10 December, 2014 with Indian children's rights and education advocate Kailash Satyarthi.
- She became a advocate for girls. Malala and Ziauddin co-founded the Malala Fund to bring awareness to the social and economic impact of girls' education and to empower girls to raise their voices, to unlock their potential and to demand change.
- She has fears that her school would be attacked. In response to her rising popularity and national recognition, Taliban leaders voted to kill her.
