Brief on The Catastrophe that took place in 2013.
The Reasoning given for the Disaster!
There are Natural and Man Made reasons found for the disaster that took place last year in 2013.
The Natural reasoning are:
- During the days between 14th till 17th June 2013, Uttarakhand received high range of rain fall which were above the bench mark.
- A cloud burst centered on the state causing devastating floods and landslides.
- Uttarakhand disaster is claimed as a natural disaster which is caused by the cloudburst and heavy monsoon rainfall. Well we can say that the real reasons behind this failure is because of:
- Unchecked rapid increase of roads, hotels, shops etc in non constructed areas.
- Deforestation being one of the main reason that causes frequent landslides.
- The growth of hydroelectricity which sparked the action of disaster.
Areas Where The Disaster Took Place More!
Thousands of locals and out-of-state pilgrims on the famous char dham yatra routes (to the 4 holy sites of the Kedarnath and Badrinath temples, and the Gangotri and Yamunotri glaciers and temples) have died. Many villages have been totally destroyed, many towns have suffered horrendous damage, and several roads and bridges have been swept away.

- Several soldiers were send for the rescue mission
- By 21st June, the army had send 10,100 soldiers and 11 helicopters
- 33,152 people have moved to a safer and wider area which was launched by the governments.
- Railways along the Uttarakhand governments provides to send all stranded passengers free of cost their respective destinations etc.
Steps taken by the Local Community:
- They gave a some amount of money
- They helped people by providing some armies or soldiers
- Many local communities arrived to Uttarakhand to help the families get off the place.
