The 2022 Otoe County Fair was an amazing success! Congratulations to all the 4-H members who through 4-H “Made the Best Better.” Thank you to the 4-H Council members, Ag Society members, leaders, superintendents, parents, grandparents, and friends of 4-H who volunteered throughout the pre-fair and fair activities. We totally appreciate your time and talents!
A big thank you to all who sponsor the 4-H program and our 4-H youth. The Otoe County Fair has a proud history and through the efforts of all of you – the tradition of excellence continues.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we experienced some new changes this year. "THE FAIR WAS THE PLACE TO BEE!"

Cass & Otoe County 4-H Livestock Judging Contest
The annual Cass & Otoe County Livestock Judging Contest will be held during the Cass County Fair on Saturday, August 13th on the Cass County Fairgrounds. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with the contest beginning at 9:00 a.m.
4-H’ers must turn in cards on all classes to qualify. Reasons and question classes will be part of the contest. Exact numbers will be announce day of contest.
All ages of 4-H'ers are welcome to participate:
Senior Division Livestock Judging (14 years & older)
Intermediate Division Livestock Judging (11-13 years)
Junior Division Livestock Judging (8-10 years)
Clover Kid Division Livestock Judging (5-8 years)
Please register by Noon on Friday, August 5th to Erin Steinhoff at erin.steinhoff@unl.edu or (402) 269-2301. There is no cost for this contest. Please wear an Otoe County 4-H t-shirts.

- The sponsor of the trophy, banner, or award you received at a pre-fair contest, county fair, or state fair.
- Your club leaders for all the help and support they’ve given you during the year.
- The Otoe County Agriculture Society for supporting the 4-H program.
- The business or person who purchased your livestock at the 4-H Livestock Sale.

State Fair Static Exhibit Information
Congratulations to all 4-H members who had their exhibits selected for the Nebraska State Fair! Good luck to those who are participating in live 4-H events on the August 26-28 weekend.
All projects going to the Nebraska State Fair must be at the Extension Office by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, August 19th. Exceptions are:
- Flowers, Foods, and Horticulture - Tuesday, August 23 by 3:30 p.m. (Please call the Extension Office with class, cultivar or variety by August 17.
Supporting information is required for ALL Home Environment exhibits at the Nebraska State Fair. Information must include:
- Explaining all the steps taken to create your entry and
- Stating the element or principle of design used.
Supporting information is also required for ALL food preservation items. A form is available from the Extension Office for your use.
Remember to include all supporting information that was required for your exhibit at the county fair. Vegetables must have the cultivar on the tag.
We will have your completed entry tag here at the office when you drop off your items. State Fair 4-H exhibits will be ready to be picked up at the Extension Office on Wednesday, September 7th.
State Fair Static Entry & Parking Ticket Purchases
Our 4-H static exhibitor families will be able to order discount passes directly from the Nebraska State Fair! Orders can be placed using the following link and password. Please remember the opportunity to order these discounted tickets is for static exhibitors and their families only.
Note – There is a limit of 10 tickets per exhibitor. Discount tickets will not be available through the county offices.

Note – All livestock exhibitors and in-person event exhibitors (contests, fashion show, presentations) will still be able to order discounted tickets when they enter in ShoWorks for State Fair.
Note – General public tickets are available at: https://www.statefair.org/buy-tickets. All advance ticket options are available now until midnight on August 24th at 12:00 a.m.
State Fair Livestock Entries
To register for the 2022 Nebraska State Fair, 4-H and FFA exhibitors and parents must complete the online registration and pay by credit/debit card. Like last year, you can register and pay for both 4-H and FFA entries in one convenient process at this website: http://nebr.fairwire.com.

4-H and FFA exhibitors and their families are responsible for submitting all livestock entries online. This includes:
- 4-H and FFA Livestock entries
- 4-H Companion Animal entries
- 4-H Dog Entries
- 4-H Dog Skill-a-thon entries
All livestock and contest entries must be submitted no later than 8:00 p.m. Central Time on August 10, 2022. A credit or debit card is required to submit entries.

Companion Animal Showmanship Contest
Take your 4-H companion animal project to the next level with our Video Companion Animal Showmanship Contest! This state-level contest is an opportunity for youth to showcase the knowledge and skills they have developed in their 4-H companion animal project. The best part?
