Kindergarten
Kindergarten had a great lesson on bullying with our school counselor Mrs. Kennedy. We have learned what bullying means and how to make sure we are being kind friends to others. We always want to see our students be excellent classroom citizens and be their best selves.
First Grade
Check out our community projects! Students had two weeks to create a 3-D model of a community building and present it to the class. They all did a fantastic job!
Second Grade
Second grade had a great start into 3rd Quarter. February has been a busy month for us.
We've celebrated the 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day. The students are now preparing to present their projects on historical figures. What a great way to prepare for third grade.Third Grade
Third grade is working with the life cycles of living things, from watching plants grow to analyzing the traits that make up each living organisms. Ask your child what they're learning about in Science!

Fifth Grade
-Kestrel 2.5 Video Expo
This is a 5th grade led project where students create a video game inspired by their 2nd grade buddies! The 5th grade technology lesson began in January during the International Week of Code (computer programming). Students who went on to perfect their coding skills became leaders of the program and are called "Veggie Burgers" and "Tofu Nuggets. " They help other fifth graders learn Scratch, the coding program that they are using to create the video games.
These video games are designed to help their 2nd grade buddies strengthen their spelling and grammar skills. Today, the 2nd graders were mesmerized when they saw a behind-the-scenes peak of their game.
Sixth Grade
We will be going on another field trip on March 2nd; this one will be to an art museum!

Kindergarten
Ms. Fallahee's kindergarten class celebrated Valentine's Day with these sweet little bunnies. They learned about covering the background with a pattern, following directions for their bunny, and cutting out their bunny to glue onto their background. They sure did turn out cute!
Another day of careful painting and drawing. Next week they will finish their beautiful beards with adding black details.
Fourth graders started drawing their Cezanne inspired landscape. They are using required elements (tree, house, foreground, mid-ground, background) for their landscape. I have loved seeing the variety of landscapes; beaches, mountains, farms, fields. Next week they will finish their drawing and start using oil pastels.
Fifth Grade
More and more fifth graders are starting to finish their ice skaters. Abigail has done a top notch job of creating an dynamic pattern on her skater's legs, and an interesting background
Middle School
I have been blown away by these Minnie Evans inspired pictures. The middle schoolers have learned the trick of making something symmetrical and their imagery is outstanding. Steven and Angely turned their projects in today and I couldn't be more impressed.
