Summary
The lottery is everyone in the village puts their name in a box and whoever is drawn has to have rocks thrown at them.
Characters
Mr.Summers
He is the man who conducts the lottery. He prepares the paper slips that go into the black box and calls the names of the people who draw the papers. He is high-ranked, one of the village leaders.
Old Man Warner
The oldest man in the village, having already participated in 77 lotteries. He condemns the young people who have stopped holding lotteries. He believes that the lottery keeps people from people back to their barbaric state.
Thoughts about the Lottery
I think the lottery was very violent and mean. I don't think they should do the lottery at villages. This is very cruel. This story was not the best we didn't like how even children can have rocks thrown at them.
