The Sun
Sam Johnson
Core
the core provides 99 percent of the suns energy. it is located at the center of the sun. it has a temperature of 15,600,000 degrees Celsius.
Radiative Zone
In the radiative zone, energy radiates from atom to atom as it moves outward away from the sun. the temperature is 2,500,000 degrees Celsius.
Convection Zone
Convection occurs in this Zone of the sun
Photosphere
This layer is considered the surface of the sun.
The chromosphere
It can only be seen during a solar eclipse. it is the haze around the sun.
corona
This is the largest layer of the sun.
Sun spots
sun spots are spots on the sun that are cooler than the rest of the sun.
Prominence.
a prominence is when a large amount of energy is shot out from the sun.
solar flares.
solar flares are arcs of energy that are shot out from the sun.
Auroras
auroras occur when energy thrown from the sun hits the earths atmosphere.
