FAMILY ENGAGEMENT NEWS
Hello Eiber families! Our February newsletter from The Parent Institute is now available and contains some great information that will help support student learning at home. Please take some time to read through the attached newsletter for some great tips that will help you provide a positive impact on your student's achievement. We send out this newsletter monthly so please keep an eye out for it!
Here are some suggestions from The Parent Institute on things you can try with your child every day to help them do well in school!
Promote kindness this Valentine's Day
Did you know that kindness is a school success skill? In studies, children who are kind to others tend to score higher on tests and make more progress toward learning goals. Discuss the importance of being kind to others as you and your child enjoy Valentine's Day activities together. Here are some that foster a variety of school skills:
- Discover the origins of Valentine's Day. Help your child collect interesting facts to share with family over a meal.
- Play an estimation game. Fill a jar with pieces of heart-shaped candy or small items. Ask family members to guess the number of items in the jar. The winner gets to pass out the contents.
- Learn how to say "I love you" in different languages.

We don't know what we would do at Eiber without our amazing Custodial Staff! They help keep our school clean, safe, and running smoothly. Please read on to meet some of them!
Alex
My name is Alex and I was born in St. Louis Missouri, but moved to Colorado when I was 6 years old. Despite living in Colorado for over 22 years, I won't buy a "Native" bumper sticker or root for the Colorado Avalanche (Lets Go Blues!). I do enjoy both watching and playing hockey, as well as playing many instruments in my free time. I have worked for Jeffco for 5 and a half years, and in that time, worked at almost 20 different schools. I take pride in making my place of work a fun, safe, and clean environment for both my coworkers and the kids.
Brian
My name is Brian! I was born in South Dakota, and came here at the age of 5. I was in the military for 38 years with 2 tours in Vietnam, Desert Storm, and Iraq. I have been with Jeffco for 19 years, and have been at Eiber for over 12 years. A fun Fact about me is that I went to school at Eiber kinder through 6th grade! I love working at Eiber and it feels like home to me. "I'll see you in the movies"
Jaz
I have worked for the Jeffco School District for 3 and a half years, and at Eiber Elementary for 2 of those years. I enjoy working for the school and the community.

Districtwide Family Survey Now Open
We are committed to ensuring that your experience with us is collaborative, successful and helps your student(s) thrive.
Beginning this year, Panorama Education will be conducting our annual family survey to provide us with benchmarking against national norms. We encourage you to complete this survey about your experience with your student(s) school and if you have multiple students at various schools, complete one for each student. In addition, if you have one or more students at the same school, please take the survey thinking about your oldest student enrolled. Be sure to select the submit button at the end of the survey so your responses are captured.
The survey is anonymous and will take around 15–20 minutes to complete. Results will be used to improve our district and your student(s) learning environment.
The survey opened Monday, January 30, and closes on Friday, March 3. Click on or copy/paste this link into your browser: https://surveys.panoramaed.com/jeffco/family to complete the survey. We also have paper copies available in English and Spanish at Eiber if you would prefer to fill it out that way!
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback! Your voice is essential in identifying what is working well and what needs improvement as we deliver on our mission to provide a world-class education that prepares all Jeffco students for bright and successful futures.
THANK YOU TO WHEAT RIDGE KIWANIS CLUB
We would like to thank the Wheat Ridge Kiwanis Club for providing school supplies for our Eiber students! The kids were happy to take some supplies home to help support their at home learning.
FUN OUTSIDE
Our students are happy to finally get to enjoy some warmer, sunny weather during recess!
