Analysis of Major Characters
Carter Kane- He's the brother of Sadie. He is African American. He has the blood of the Pharaohs. He is the host of Horus. When Carter was separated from Sadie it was for their power not to grow.
Sadie Kane- She’s the sister of Carter. She is also African American and has the blood of the Pharaohs. She is the host of Isis. She is a really good magician.
Julius Kane- He is a widowed father of Carter and Sadie. He is brothers with Amos Kane. He is the host of Osiris. He is a very powerful magician.\
Amos Kane- He is Julius Kane brother. He is Carters and Sadies uncle. He is the most powerful magician. He was forced to be the host of Set.
Zia Rashid- She is a teenager and a magician. She was the host of Nephthys. She has a secret crush on Carter. She helps train Carter and Sadie.
Bast- She is Sadie’s cat that can turn into half human. Her job is to protect main Sadie because thats why Sadies parent cast her but she also looks after Carter.
Theme Analysis
Good vs. Evil:
The book has many themes taking the audience through many twist and turns. One theme is “Good vs Evil” because on the “good” side it is Sadie and Carter. On the “bad” side it is the gods and demons that try to stop Sadie and Carter from finding the truth about the Kane family, and from finding is his dad, Julius, survived the Rosetta Stone. Sadie and Carter must face the hard obstacles in their way to reach the final stage and find out the truth.
Family:
The other main theme in the novel is family. Family is a big part of this book because not only is it a special piece of our heart but a thing that you can face challenges through. Sadie and Carter come from two different cultures not knowing how the other sibling is,to becoming very responsible brothers. At the end both siblings use their minds and skills to overcome hard challenges ;)
Key Facts and Synopsis

But while Carter’s been home schooled, his younger sister, Sadie, has been living with her grandparents in London. On Christmas Eve, Sadie and Carter are reunited when their father brings them to the British Museum, with a promise that he’s going to “make things right.” But all does not go according to what they planned: Carter and Sadie watch as their father summons a mysterious figure, who quickly banishes their father and causes a fiery explosion.
