AAPS Health Alert
AAPS Health Alert - Feb. 17, 2023
Washtenaw County is experiencing an increase in Norovirus, a gastrointestinal illness that causes nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Over the past week, some AAPS students and staff have reported gastrointestinal symptoms and illness.
Norovirus spreads easily, and can survive for long periods of time on surfaces. Protect yourself, your family, and others:
Wash hands with soap and water often
Stay home if you are ill
Clean and disinfect contaminated surfaces
Do not prepare food for others if you're sick
AAPS monitors illness and absence rates across our buildings. As with other communicable diseases, families are notified if classroom or building levels of gastrointestinal illness reach 20%. A cleaning and disinfection process occurs after clusters of gastrointestinal illness.
