WLMS Book Fair

Dear WLMS Parent, Guardians, and Families:

The WLMS Book Fair will be held in the LMC (library) from November 1 -5 (8:00AM – 4:00PM) and it will be a completely CASHLESS book fair!

Students will be able to use a cash-free payment option called eWallet. It’s a convenient digital account that your child can use for shopping at our fair. Grandparents, friends, and other family members can contribute, too! Students will be able to shop during the school day from 8:00AM - 4:00PM!

  • Visit our Book Fair eWallet page to get started!

  • We will also host a parent night on Thursday, November 4th, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM where debit/credit card payments will be accepted as well as eWallet. (Please do not send students to school with debit/credit cards.)

  • If you would like to volunteer at the Book Fair, please sign up using the link below:

We are so excited to celebrate our love of books together at the Book Fair. We look forward to seeing your child there!

Happy reading,

Día de Los Muertos

The Spanish Immersion Program and the Spanish classes will be completing a PBL on “Día de Los Muertos” or All Souls’ Day. “Día de Los Muertos” is a holiday in which families celebrate and remember the lives of those who have passed on. The origin of the holiday started in Mexico and has since expanded and reached many Spanish-speaking countries. During this holiday, it is customary for families to clean and decorate the grave of the deceased with chrysanthemums, marigolds, and afterward, have a picnic with family and community members to share stories of the deceased.

Another special tradition included in Día de Los Muertos is the construction of displays dedicated to the deceased. Sra. Silas and her classes celebrated Día de Los Muertos via a PBL and created a display in her classroom. The display included photographs, candles, flowers, trinkets, etc. Students in her Spanish classes
