Dear Families,

The last few weeks have been filled with some amazing teaching and learning, and lots of fun too! Our socially distanced recess games are filling our fields with creativity, laughter, exercise and teamwork. Thank you to our student advocate, Julie Claycomb, for keeping our kids going on the playground!

What a joy it has been to be a part of Bellview School in a new role this year! The opportunity to get to know all of our students and families, work with every single staff member, and spend time collaborating with other schools in our district, has been a truly rewarding experience. I am pleased to announce that I will be spending another year as your interim principal and look forward to having more time learning and growing in this role. The entire school community has been so supportive throughout this school year and I am so grateful to be a part of it.

Warmly,

Lindsay Gates

Interim Principal

Big picture

Covid update from the district office

This week the CDC released new guidance related to fully vaccinated individuals and the use of face coverings and physical distancing.

Governor Brown issued a video statement on how this new guidance will be implemented in Oregon. In her statement she shared, "Nothing is changing for schools this school year, and I expect education staff and students to continue to wear masks and physically distance, as outlined in our Ready Schools, Safe Learners guidance." This also applies to all other individuals on school campus, including but not limited to: family members, volunteers, visitors, SROs, and other partners.

ODE is currently working with OHA on guidance for next school year.
