School Board Annual Reorganization
The Board of School Directors is required by law to hold a Reorganization Meeting during the first full week of December each year. On Tuesday, December 2, 2014 the Board of School Directors held their annual Reorganization Meeting. Board Member, Stephanie Gray, served as Temporary Chairperson of the meeting. As part of the Reorganization Meeting, Mary Russell nominated Napoleon Nelson to take over the position of President of the Board of School Directors. The nomination was met with unanimous approval and acceptance by Mr. Nelson, making him the Board President for one year, ending on December 7, 2015. Mary Russell then nominated Julie Haywood for Vice President and Bill England nominated David Rackow for Vice President. After a roll call vote, Julie Haywood was elected Vice President of the Board for a one year term with an end date of December 7, 2015. The last two pieces of reorganization business included the appointment of Stephanie Gray as SDCT Board Representative to the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology for three years and the announcement of 2015 Regular Legislative Board Meetings by Napoleon Nelson.

CHS Marching Panthers Wear Bracelets to Support Abington Student
Rivalries were set aside at the recent Cheltenham vs Abington football game when the CHS Marching Panthers wore wristbands in support of an Abington student who suffers from the rare disease Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy/Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (RSD/CRPS). Honored with the game's coin toss, the Abington student was joined by her family who sold RSD/CRPS bracelets at the stadium to raise funds for the American RSD/CRPS Association. When offered to wear bracelets by the student's mother, the CHS Marching Panthers overwhelmingly accepted. Band members performed with bright orange and yellow wristbands for all to see. Many band members even made a personal connection with the Abington student and her family. The student's mother was so moved that she wrote a letter to Principal Parker conveying her great appreciation for the kindness and support displayed by the CHS Marching Panthers.
