CB District Champs!
The Varsity Spring Soccer Team won the district championship in a hard fought game yesterday against Tohickon. Scoring for the Tigers were Janessa and Grace. Every player on the team contributed to the great win, successful season, and the first time Tamanend Soccer Championship! The team ended with a 8-1-1 record. Way to go girls!
1st Place Superior!
Congratulations to the TMS select ensembles on an extremely successful Dorney Adjudication Trip. String Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Chieftains, and Gold 'n' Blues all earned first place, superior ratings. Gold 'n' Blues won the Best Overall Choral Award of the day and Jazz Band not only won the Best Overall Instrumental Group of the day, but also a perfect score for the second year in a row! Section awards were given to String Ensemble's 1st violin section, Jazz Band's brass and sax sections, and Wind Ensemble's low brass section. Yvonne X won an outstanding accompanist award. Solo awards were given to Audrey J, Isabella R, Abby D, Jonathan N, Andrew B, Emma B, Aritro B, & Emily R, who won two solo awards!
Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. It was truly a great day!
Tamanend Marching Band
On Monday, over 150 Tamanend 7th, 8th, and 9th grade Tamanend band students marched in the annual Doylestown Memorial Day Parade. It was a wet and soggy morning but the Tamanend Marching Tigers played strong and shined in Doylestown all the way to the end gaining lots of cheers and applause from our surrounding community members.
Creative Activities: Andrew B.
Andrew is our Student Council President, a member of Wind ensemble, Jazz Band, Honors Band, Chieftain Chorus, Gold'n'Blues, and Barbershop Quartet. He was one of the leads in the school musical, and his group received honorable mention in C-SPAN's StudentCam 2017. He is a shining example of how we should be true to our own inner talents and creativity.
Reading for Pleasure: Jonah S.
Jonah has been described as a voracious, enthusiastic, and insatiable reader. Jonah reads all the time. More importantly, he talks about his reading with others, describing content and why he likes, or even dislikes, a book. He has been an asset to our Reading Olympics team and during the school musical, he kept a book backstage so he could read for long stretches between scenes.
Personal Power: Lily M.
Lily definitely has a healthy sense of personal power and believes she can make a positive difference. She co-created an Internet support page for people in need of a friendly 'voice' who are dealing with LGBTQ, gender inequality, or other emotionally-charged issues. She learned to play the flute on her own so she could join our school’s elite Jazz Band, Swing, and Wind Ensembles.
Lost and not YET Found
The pile is growing! Although we have returned the articles that have names in them, and a few parents and students have found some long lost items, the table of Lost and not YET Found seems to be growing. If you have lost anything this year, please stop by and look at the tables in the Main Lobby. For a preview, see the video of our Lost and not YET Found below.
We want to thank Mrs. Consolletti and her students for their service to our school in washing, folding and displaying the lost items. Thank you Mrs. Higgins and Mrs. Kirkpatrick for searching for name labels and returning what could be returned.
Arrival to School
Rainy Day Traffic
On rainy days, we create our own traffic with an increase of students who become carriders. Please allow your student to ride the bus if they are a regular bus rider. A good compromise that won't cause school traffic and lateness to work and school is to drive your student to the bus stop.
Thank you for your cooperation.
