Volunteer Orientation
Attention All LES Volunteers! There will be a Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, September 19 at 2 pm in the media center. Parent Volunteers are required to attend an orientation, so if you plan on volunteering this year, please join us.
If you can't make this orientation, please email Dana Byard at dana.byard@fcps.org to schedule a time to go over the information and complete the necessary paperwork. We look forward to getting the volunteer program up and running this year!

WEAPON POSSESSION
It is unlawful for students to possess or use any weapon on school property. Students who have or use a weapon on school property will be suspended from school, and the police will be notified of the incident. A weapon is any object designed to harm another physically or an object which is used in a way that can physically harm another. This school is committed to providing each of you with a safe environment, and we will do all we can to carry out that responsibility including, if necessary, conducting searches.
OUTSIDE FOOD - FCPS Reg 400-82
“For health and safety reasons, parents/visitors are only permitted to bring in food that is intended for consumption by their individual student. For health and safety reasons, students are only permitted to bring in food for personal consumption.” Therefore, we are unable to allow birthday treats at any time during the school day. Thank you in advance for understanding.
PARTY INVITATIONS
Also, in order to prevent a loss of instructional time and hurt feelings, students may not distribute invitations for private parties at school. These should be delivered from home. By October, you will receive grade level directories of student information. This directory contains addresses and phone numbers of those parents willing to share.
REPLACEMENT OF LOST OR DAMAGED INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS - FCPS Reg 500-32
1. The student shall be held responsible for the careful use and protection of the books, materials, and equipment loaned or assigned to him. Upon the request of the principal, the student shall return these items in good condition, allowing for normal usage.
2. Failure of the student to comply with this procedure shall require the principal “For health and safety reasons, parents to assess the loss or damage for the student to pay to the school. The student will not be held liable for the loss or damages if the principal has determined that the property has been damaged or destroyed due to fire, theft or vandalism by another person.
3. Through means of communication considered most appropriate and effective, such principal shall annually inform all students and their parents of regulations governing the use and proper care of books, materials, and equipment.
