Save the Date For the Next South Eastern Reading Council Meeting
Monday, February 29, 2016: South Eastern Reading Council will host a Book Repair Workshop from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Olney Public Library, located at 400 W. Main St in Olney, Illinois. Admission is $5 for non-members, free for members of the South Eastern Reading Council.
Learn quick and easy book repair techniques for repairing damaged books from your classroom collections! This hands-on workshop will be presented by Kary Barth of Kapco. If possible, please bring a few books which are in need of repair.

February 9, 2016: Lewis and Clark Reading Council will host Illinois Reads Hall of Authors from 6:00-8:00 pm at O’Fallon Library, 120 Civic Plaza, O'Fallon, Illinois. Local authors will be reading from their books including Sherry Favre, Jessica Schneider, Lynnette Schuepbach, Derrik Richard, Alexandria LaFaye, Jennifer Ward, and Mary Young.
February 13, 2016: Illini Reading Council will host The Elements and Applications of Close Reading featuring Tracy Tarasuik from 9:00 am-Noon at Mellon Administrative Building, located at 703 South New Street in Champaign, Illinois 61820. Admission is $12.
February 24, 2016: Fox Valley Reading Council will host Revision Decisions: An Evening of Talking Through Writing, Revising, and Grammar with Jeff Anderson from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at the Batavia Moose Lodge, 1535 South Batavia Avenue (Rte. 31), Batavia, Illinois. Registration is $35 for Fox Valley members, $45 for non-members, and $25 for students. Dinner will be served.
February 27, 2016: East Central-EIU Reading Council will host a Literacy and Learning Conference featuring Marilee Sprenger from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm at Eastern Illinois University, Buzzard Building, 1920 9th Street, Charleston, Illinois. This is a FREE event!
April 12, 2016: East Central-EIU Reading Council will host Legos, Literacy, and 21st Century Skills featuring Michael Carton at Eastern Illinois University, 1920 9th Street, Charleston, Illinois. This is a FREE event!
Wired Wednesday Webinars
All webinars will be begin at 7:00 p.m. and are only for IRC Members. One clock hour can be earned for attending the "live" webinar and optional graduate credit is available. Pre-registration is required by emailing the IRC office.
