Collins & Co. Room 204

Week Twenty-Seven (March 16-20)

Math

We are at the end of our chapter on graphs. The students will take their chapter 11 test on Tuesday of next week.

We played battleship to practice looking at coordinates on a grid. We also created our own questions about using a grid to track distance between points

Reading

This week we read nonfiction texts to look for different text structures. Students read a TFK article about sugar. We had great conversations about what text features were present. They did a great job and always had reasons to support their thinking.

On Friday, the Robert Crown Center for Health came and talked to the students about the Reproductive System. The students learned about how "life begins."

Next week we will begin our unit on The Civil War! The students will learn some background knowledge to prepare them for our simulation after Spring Break.
