From Palmer River Elementary School
March 17, 2023
Dear Families,
This is the last week to purchase spring plants through the Palmer River Courtyard Fundraiser. All funds will be utilized to enhance our courtyard. These enhancements will provide our students with a hands-on outdoor learning space that can be utilized by all grade-levels. Please note the last day to submit your order is Friday, March 24. Thank you for your ongoing support!
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out anytime. We are happy to help.
Sincerely,

Absences When Sick
In the interest of keeping everyone healthy at Palmer River Elementary School, please keep your child home from school if they are sick. If your child has a fever, they should not return to school until they are fever-free for 24 hours without a fever reducer such as Tylenol or Motrin. Additionally, students who are sick due to vomiting or diarrhea should stay out of school for 24 hours after their last bout. Finally, students who have been recently diagnosed with a bacterial infection that requires an antibiotic should stay home until they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours. Our diverse school population includes individuals with complex medical needs, and this is vital to keeping everyone safe. We appreciate your cooperation.
Please Update or Complete CORI Forms
If you plan on attending a classroom activity, volunteering in a classroom or on field day, or chaperoning a field trip, you MUST have a CORI/SORI (background check) on file with the Dighton-Rehoboth Regional School District. This takes a few days to process, so please plan ahead. Please stop by the school office with your driver's license to complete the form.

From Our School Nurse
Dear Palmer River Families:
Entering the fourth grade is an exciting time. Our students will be leaders as they celebrate their final class year here. We will be preparing the children for many transitions. You will witness many changes in their growth and development.
In the Health Office, a physical is collected before students begin their first day in September. The physical should summarize immunizations, any screenings done by the pediatrician, medical conditions or concerns, and a recent height and weight.
This wellness check-up should be dated within a year preceding September 1, 2023. The document may be faxed (508-252-5110) or submitted to the Palmer River Health Office at any time, including the summer.
Also worthy of mention - there are current fourth grade students that do not have an updated physical here in the Health Office. If you have not yet sent one in for your child, please do so as soon as possible. It is our goal to have our files in compliance before sending them to our Beckwith Middle School nurse in the very near future.
Thank you kindly.
