Welcome back!! I hope everyone had a relaxing few days away from school and are geared up to finish strong this school year!
A few reminders so you can stay in the know:
~ ALPS (Active Learner Program in Schools) Course: Now that spring is here, the ALPS course is open! Come and walk some laps with your kiddo! The course is open each Thursday and Friday from 7:35-7:50. This is a great way to begin the day!
~ Construction Project Update: No real news to report this week. We will continue to keep everyone updated as we move through this project.
~ Upcoming Dates: Our April PLC will be on Tuesday, April 12. The sign-up for this will be coming next week. We also will have our monthly PTO meeting on this same day--5:30-6:30 in the Roosevelt Media Center. Child watch is provided.
~ Spring Cleaning: As you start putting away winter gear for the season (we can hope, right?!) and have extra winter gear that may not fit your kiddo(s) next season, we would love donations to the health office. We are MOST in need of waterproof gloves/mittens as well as unisex small snow pants. We have an abundance of other winter gear but could use these things. Thanks!
~ Do you have an incoming Kindergartner?? Kindergarten Round Up is just around the corner! Please mark your calendar for Thursday, April 21 from 4:30-7:00. Round Up this year will be an open house type format, so if you have a child that will be coming to Kindergarten in the fall, please plan on popping in during these hours. It's always so exciting to meet future Raccoons!
~ Last week we had a situation that occurred after school had dismissed for the day that involved a call to the police. Please know that our entire school community works collaboratively and tirelessly to create a safe learning environment. We have a number of systems and processes in place to respond to situations when they arise, and we are committed to proactively supporting students to keep them learning and growing. Should you ever have any concerns or questions, or if you simply want to visit, I am always willing to talk. As always, thank you for your support of the Roosevelt School Community...it really does take a village!
Have a great day,
Ann
