About The Movement:

1. Around 7,000 American women served in the Vietnam war.

2. Lyndon B. Johnson ordered the retaliatory bombing of military targets in North Vietnam

3. The anti-war movement began mostly on college campuses, as members of the leftist organization Students for a Democratic Society which began organizing "teach-ins" to express their opposition to the way in which it was being conducted.

4. The vietnam War generated greater strife in public life than any episode since the Populist uprising of the 1890's and was the most divisive force since the Civil War.

5.Martin Luther King, Jr. openly expressed support for the antiwar movement on moral grounds. Reverend King expanded on his views in April at the Riverside Church in New York, asserting that the war was draining much-needed resources from domestic programs.

Why I choose this topic?

Very simple. I'm a hippie at heart. haha My mom and dad have always told me that I'm way too kind-hearted. I oppose the war and the idea of killing. In my own opinion is "why can't we all just get along and work as not only as a nation but to come together as one country, even through were not. I guess people can't look past differences. But don't get me wrong I do understand why we go to "war" and why we have to protect our nation.
