Globalization
-Alyssa Lalmond-
What is globalization?
Globalization is a process of interaction and integration among the people, companies, and governments of different nations, a process driven by international trade and investment and aided by information technology. www.globalization101.org/what-is-globalization/
Globalization is made up of four different parts, technology, culture, environment and economics.
Technology.
The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, esp. in industry. https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+technology&biw=1920&bih=963&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=FcsZU66tMLO80QGykYHYBQ&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAA
Technology effects our lives, everywhere we go there is technology around us. Technology can have negative effects like social media and trying to find a job.
Children sign up for social media websites like Facebook and Twitter not knowing what they can get themselves into. A big cause of suicide is cyber bullying. Hiding behind a screen is easier for kids to be mean to one another rather than face to face. Is technology the reason why more children or even adults die everyday?
Finding a job can be difficult enough but your boss can really dig up dirty stuff from your social media also. Whatever you or your friends post can be found and tracked. There is nothing to worry about if you are appropriate and kind to others but if there is any suspicion that you are not a good role model they will rethink hiring you for a job offer. Even collages look at your social media to see if you are a good enrollment and someone they are looking for.
Culture
Environment
The surroundings or conditions in which a person, animal, or plant lives or operates. https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+technology&biw=1920&bih=963&source=lnms&sa=X&ei=FcsZU66tMLO80QGykYHYBQ&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAA#q=what+is+environment
The environment is an important role in our lives. This is where we live, this is where plants and animals live. We need our earth to be clean and healthy but everyday there is so much more pollution. Instead of throwing that one plastic bag out the window or in a trash bag, recycle it because that can make a big difference.
Personal preference and physical features make where we prefer to live. Overpopulation can occur in certain areas and that can effect our environment. Whenever new buildings and houses are built it hurts our earth even more. Cutting down trees can limit oxygen levels.
Economics
The economy is a large problem due to international trading. This effects the lives of us and other countries. People have to settle for difficult jobs that don't pay a lot just so they can get a little bit of cash to try to support themselves and family.
The Chinese get paid cheap labor so it will increase the factories profit.
Trading with other countries.
Countries trade with each other when, on their own, they do not have the resources, or capacity to satisfy their own needs and wants. By developing and exploiting their domestic scarce resources, countries can produce a surplus, and trade this for the resources they need. http://www.economicsonline.co.uk/Global_economics/Why_do_countries_trade.html
The United States of American is big in trading. We buy and sell different products to try and get an income. We buy other things from all over the world. The clothing you are wearing right now is most likely made in another country. Boots, like Uggs are made in Australia.
Australia
The first photograph is a world map that highlights where the continent Australia is located.
The second photograph of Australia represents the population. As you can see there is rarely anyone living in the middle or upper coast. Australia is highly populated in the South east across the coast.
The third photograph shows physical features. People tend to go in areas that have cooler temperatures, transportation, available natural resources, etc.
