Mr. Mack, our Mail Carrier
It was very exciting when Mr. Mack, our Mail Carrier from the Bethesda Post Office came into visit Preprimary’s Post Office one morning this week. PP went out to see his mail truck. Mr. Mack explained how the letters, packages and magazines get sorted; demonstrated how his scanner worked; and explained why his steering wheel is on the right side! (So he can drive right up to some mailboxes…) Mr. Mack has been delivering mail to Concord Hill School for over 30 years!
Mail Letters and Alphabet Letters
Preprimary has been busy sorting and delivering mail; selling stamps; and taking orders on the phone or “online” in our classroom Post Office. Our wonderful collection of vintage stamps has provided intriguing opportunities to examine compare and sort.
During our class discussions we discovered that how one word can have two different meanings. Letters can mean mail letters and letters can also be alphabet letters! Preprimary enjoyed finding and showing off all the letters of their names.
